A few words

As we walked through the slush pile of submissions for this literary “writing” party, it dawned on us that so many souls have so many stories to share. Each of the stories is valuable. While some writers chose to write about actual cities that forged literary connections, some others floated into the lands of imagination. We attempted to strike a balance through the choice of pieces published. Nonetheless, we had to bid adieu to some beautiful pieces. We hope these authors will care to write with us at another apt opportunity.

From Shakespeare to T.S.Eliot, from London to Venezuela City, from Karna to Anne Frank, the pieces in this literary “writing” party traverse a wide horizon of writers, of ideas and of places. What holds them together is an urban theme. While for one writer, a city becomes a site of redemption, for the other, a city becomes the site of imprisonment.

As we negotiate through the pieces, we acknowledge the spirit of human beings attempting to make meaning out of everything. This impetus is what drives us too.

Till we meet again, keep writing!
